Summer Must-Haves

It is prime time for enjoying the beautiful Okanagan lifestyle. If you haven’t been out wine touring, boating on the lake or enjoying drinks on a patio downtown Kelowna – you’re missing out! Check out our list of summer must-haves to help you look your best while you enjoy one of the nicest places we know.

John Varvatos Linen Short

These pair easily with a tee or short sleeve sport shirt for a weekend look that never fails. They feature triple needle top stitching, flap back pockets and signature three-star embroidery. The subdued colour palette will go with everything and nothing feels cooler than 100% linen.

Blazers

The trend continues for upscale casual menswear. Unstructured sport coats give a naturally casual vibe but can be easily dressed up as needed. With only 1/4 lining or even none at all, they are light and comfortable. One of our favourites is the Tombolini Flying. Only 2 words: so light.

Sport Shirts

Button up shirts in either long sleeve or short sleeve are an easy way to dress up your look from a basic tee or polo. This season it’s all about the patterns. You can go big or small, but don’t be afraid to show some print. Micro patterns of checks, plaids or even small icons will look more conservative and generally subtle giving a more traditional look. Go big with florals, paisley, bold colours, abstract images or interesting icons to stand out from a crowd. Both Eton and Bugatchi deliver on the light weight button ups – aka a sport shirt – that are a definite summer must-have.

Pants

Keep your pants trim and tailored, but not necessarily skinny. Go for a neat look and something that fits your body. Remember, when your pants are baggy it makes you look bigger. A well fitting pant is always the most flattering for any shape or size. Don’t forget to have them hemmed if needed! To really show your fashionable edge, cuff the bottom of your pants and keep them on the short side.

Finishing Details

As we like to say, underwear matters. Quest undies from Saxx are our first choice for hot summer days. The quick drying micromesh fabric will wick away unwanted moisture and even the antifold waistband is geared for ultimate breathability. They are perfect for those sweaty days, or if you’ve enjoyed an impromptu sprint through a sprinkler or dip in the lake. National Geographic has named them the ultimate travel underwear, so you know they have to be amazing.
