Summer 2013 Swimwear Trends
Summer in the Okanagan has arrived! Make sure you look great even when you are cooling off this summer. Here’s the latest trends in swimwear to keep you at the forefront of fashion.
Swim shorts are shrinking! But don’t worry, not everyone is wearing the Speedo look… yet. This season shorter inseams are landing mid-thigh and measure around 14 inches. Sundek – a new brand at MacDermott’s and MacD’s Lakeside – has some great options at this new shorter length. We love the black and white check with the accent rainbow.
Not ready to embrace the short shorts? Don’t worry – the classic board short is still around in a big way. Although cut slightly trimmer with less bulky styling throughout, these still give you some extra coverage. Tommy Bahama has clean silhouettes in navy and black that are both sharp and functional.
Patterns are also going strong. Don’t be afraid of checks, Hawaiian prints and even camouflage. Check out the 17 inch Camo print from Sundek. The summer 2013 trend of colour is also evident throughout swimwear. We’re seeing lots of bright colours from Sundek, Tommy Bahama and Hugo Boss. Stand out pool side this season!
Overall we are seeing a great variety of swimwear options for men. Swim shorts are a great way to experiment with colour, patterns and leg length if you don’t already do so with your regular wardrobe.
