Resort Wear

Christmas has been wrapped up for another year and winter has settled into Kelowna. If you’re heading south to avoid the winter blues you’re wardrobe needs to be light and refreshing. Here are some of the vacation essentials for vacationers and snowbirds this winter:

Linen – always a staple if you’re going somewhere warm. Remember – it actually makes you feel 5 degrees cooler! Look for linen shirts, short or long sleeve, in many colours. Pastels in particular are still going strong across the board. And don’t forget to pack a pair of linen pants. Many cruises or resorts require men to wear pants at dinner so you’ll need something light and comfortable. If you’re not a fan of the wrinkles, try the Tommy Bahama Brosnan pant which is a linen and silk blend to keep you wrinkle free.

Other pants to try are coloured chinos. They have 5 pocket styling like jeans but are cotton and come in an array of colours. Wear them with a tee, polo or linen shirt and you’ll look and feel amazing.

Another vacation staple is the polo shirt. That collar adds a touch of class that a tee shirt just can’t offer. Both Tommy Bahama and Robert Graham have great polos in their resort collections that are soft on the skin and easy on the eyes. Throw on a light weight knit sweater over top and you’re ready to enjoy a cool breeze or dinner on the beach.

For the daytime look cargo shorts are back in a big way right now. Comfortable and certainly functional for all your travelling necessities. Love plaid shorts? Don’t worry, plaids are still going strong and will give you that fashion edge above the solid shorts.

You’re going on vacation to have fun – now go wear something fun!
